Ghosted; An Apple TV+ production
Ghosted is one of the newest films by Apple TV+ and its a good one time watch with a decent mix of everything from comedy, action, stop gap romance and fashion. Watch this movie for the star cast duo of Ana de Armas and Chris Evans!
It’s clearly a comedy movie while being a “secondary” action movie. But the action doesn’t impress much. Ana does gives her best but it feels the finesse is absent at times like when she’s shooting with a gun or how she’s holding the gun. But she does ends up impressing at times with her fighting sequences especially her speed and her flexibility. I do remember one hand to hand combat move where she seemed very fluid in her motion and I couldn’t help but get stuck by the awe of the scene.
Chris Evans seems natural in his role of an aloof person trying to make sense of things around him. But the narrative of the movie seems to be driven by Armas and it seems to be incomplete just a bit. Action is definitely a part of the incompleteness but there’s something else as well. I don’t know if its her confidence while being a spy or while killing people or its just her dialogue delivery, but it definitely seems to be a bit off.
And this analysis is post few days of watching the movie after giving the thought some time and with full disclaimer: it’s a very subjective assessment. For any viewer, it’s likely that this movie might seem a good movie.
The best scene?
It has to be the slo-mo entrance scene of the star duo in the last part of the movie where they both look absolutely stunning!
Conclusion?
I’d say the movie is a fun watch and definitely a one time watch to enjoy it alone or with someone else. It’d be fun to see how Ana de Armas plays her characters in future action movies!
