Movie Review: Parker, 2013, starring Jason Statham
What’s the movie about?
Principles. Its a story about a thief with principles. And of a divorced woman who is out of money.
Plot
Jason Statham plays Parker, a thief who has his principles. Parker is double-crossed by the rest of his team because he refuses to do a second job with them. The main plot of the movie is Parker getting revenge from his old crew.
This plot runs in parallel with the involvement of a young divorced women and her involvement with Parker.
Characters
Character development is quite straight with respect to the time passed in movie. Doesn’t goes into past to develop a character.
The main character, Parker is a character without a flaw. He’s a smart thief who is very difficult to kill and can do pretty much anything even after being stabbed and beaten badly.
In total, there are around six-seven main characters around which the plot is based.
What’s in the movie?
Bit of action, bit of emotions, bit of family and two heists. This movie is not a heist film or an action flick per say. But, it’s a little bit of everything. Kind of an all-in-one deal.
Why should you watch this film?
If you a Jason Statham fan, you are good to go. After all, this is one of his lesser known movies.
In short, its a good watch if you have got some free time to spare.
If you want a heist movie or a robbery movie and are interested to see the detailed planning of a bank job, this is not the movie to watch. Perhaps, “Baby” and “Italian Job” would satisfy you better.
